This book was written in response to French monarchy's slaughter of some 30,000 French Huguenots. As it best translates from Latin, it is a vindication of opposition to tyrants and a Biblical defense of the right of revolution or rebellion to a corrupt king/leader. If you want to understand the covenant origins of the American polity and the influence of Biblical, Puritanical or Calvinistic political thought on the American founders, than this book is worth a read.

This is a very valuable historical piece in the struggle for liberty... Secularists have deemphasized the signficance of this tract's influence in the American Revolution, because of an affinity for the humanistic enlightenment.

This book was even more influencial than Thomas Payne's Common Sense, in molding the American mind and preparing it for the war for independence. Much of our Declaration of Independence reflects its wisdom and thought. Written in by a French Huguenot to give Biblical and civil justification for fighting against a government that was illegally killing it own people during the relgious wars on France between 1540s-late 1700. A must reading for those who want to understand religious and political history of Europe, or want to better understand the Biblical justification sought by our own founding fathers in their fight for independence. A must read!

It is about what is most important in a child's upbringing.
The king and Queen in the book both think they know
what is best for the little prince, but neither of them
can agree on what that is. Together they set out to find the answer,
but the little prince already knows the answer it's Bub or Love as he can't quite pronounce it yet. I think
you and your kids will enjoy reading this book together.

I received this book as a gift. What a great gift. All three of my children have learned about "bub". You'll have to read it to figure out the mystery for yourself.

Mr. King presents the next chapter in the exploits of the Assasin "Anderson," whom we met in "A Bullet for Stonewall." This is another extremely well researched book. Mr. King blends actual events and historic characters with his theory of the "real" reason behind President Lincoln's assasination. Incredibly, it makes more sense than the widely accepted version that was a product of the Assasination Conspiracy Trials. Mr. King spares no details in this book. His thorough research is evident in the inor details of the book, such as the pocket watch that "Anderson" looks at in a pawn shop. I was amazed to read about one of my own ancestors in the book. Mr. King's accounts of this man's actions were identical to docmented family research that I have on this individual. I found it incredible that Mr. King had gotten this information through public records of the conspiracy trial. For you history buffs who might view this book with scepticism, I think that you will be very satisfied with its quality. After reading it, you will begin to wonder if the widely accepted version of the assasination is actually true.

A Bullet for Lincoln is a sequel to a Bullet for Stonewall. It is a fast paced tale of one of the most famous Presidential assassinations in American history. Set in the dying days of the Civil War, the author vividly describes a plot by wealthy industrialists to murder Lincoln. Why? Well, you will have to read the book to find out. And it is a right good riveting read, full of plot twists and suprises. You may well find yourself wondering how much of the book is true (like in Oliver Stone's JFK). The book does have a lot of thoroughly researched historical facts. Mr. King is a very knowledgeable military historian who works for the US Army in the Peninsula area of Virginia

Janet's book is an absolute must for anyone looking for True Love. She identifies through Guinevere's experience with Arthur and Lancelot, the difference between "romantic" and "true" love. My favorite quote is from Merlin concerning the Holy Grail: "The Holy chalice is the sacred chalice of the heart, within the cavern of the body, and the wine of Truth. All who make the Journey through the labyrinth of mind and emotions to arrive at Truth are worthy of the Grail. To fully taste the wine of Truth is to sup, indeed, the wine of the mystic, and to know the meaning of joy and freedom. Tabitha King is masterful in her character development, dialogue, and understanding of human nature. Caretaker is the second book by Ms King that I had the good fortune to find and read, and I was as unable to put this one down as I was with the first, "Basketball." Her writing style is slow and steady--not rushing into the plot, but introducing us to believable characters who act in very human ways, both good and bad. Don't get me wrong, there are surprises and twists in her stories, but there is also a gentleness and a beauty to her writing that I have never seen before from any other author

This is the type of book which one reads again and again, finding more in it to admire and enjoy each time. It explores the star-crossed relationship of Tory Christopher and Joe Nevers, two people who have nothing in common and yet are inexplicably drawn to one another. There's a mystery surrounding a couple of unexplained deaths, as well as subplots involving friendship, love, sex, revenge, prejudice, marriage, illness, and death. The way the book moves from the present day into flashbacks and then back makes it a bit difficult to follow when you first read it, but it is well worth a little effort. I consider it Ms. King's best book, and one of the best novels I've read in the past 20 years

Chasing the King is an entertaining book that explores a variety of issues, which makes it fun for any reader. I am not a huge sports fan, but the descriptions really drew me in and I feel I know more about soccer/futebol now! The descriptions of the soccer games are vivid and exciting. The peak into teen-sports and the intensity was eye opening. Chasing the King also looks at family relationships, friendships, and aspects of teenage life I had forgotten about. A fun, interesting read--I highly recommend it for all readers.

This is a terrific book. If you or someone you know, really enjoys soccer, it is a good read. The sports sections are very well-written and engaging. The book also gives some interesting perspective into South American culture. Very entertaining and many lessons to be learned in this book, especially for the young athlete. A GOOOAL!!!!

This book as a masterpiece both in its writings and the wonderful illustrations provided by Lynn. I have found this book to be inspiring, uplifting and full of truth. The stories written are not fables, but truths in story/picture format for people of all gender/nationalities/age levels to learn from. Lynn has taken the truths of the Cherokee Nation and presented them in a fashion where we can see, understand, know the way to live our lives in a respectful, peaceful, honorable way. The illustrations in the book are awesome. Beautiful artistic talent. I am looking forward to more books from Lynn. Thank you Lynn for taking the time from your busy life to carry forth truth in the manner which Creator has directed. I feel every home, every library should have this marvelous book to learn from.

This book is a wonderful collection of Cherokee legends passed from generation to generation, which are still being told today by the elders. These inspiring stories are ones that will enlighten the masses. These stories will touch every socio-economic class, religion, race, and background. It is the most interesting book I have read in a long time. It tells the stories of children at play, things that happened around the sacred Cherokee reservation. Stories in which only the "Little People" could have played a part. These are real stories that continue to develop in the present and will continue developing in the future. This is a never-ending story that I look forward to reading again. It was entertaining and educational. The American Indian was and still is the epitomy of freedom. I beleive that this book emphasizes the importance of studying American Indian history and customs. Although this book is a "story book", it has a certain reality reflected in today's belief that the "Little People" are still a part of everyday life. It has a factual side that should not be ignored.

In closing, this book is the perfect mixture of intriguing, mythical stories and factual events that have shaped, not only the legacy of the American Indian, but also the legacy of this great country in which we live. We must not forget the peoples who first cultivated, depended on, and loved this great land.

THe diary is an absolute page-turner. Saddening and horrifying in the stages of a surprising--to King--divorce. King vividly recounts going through this gut-wrenching change and seeing a man she thought she knew change into a stranger.

If the reader had no idea what divorce does to a family, she (or he) will after this book. King's Lessons section is helpful to anyone going through a rough time, and her Friends for Friends section may open others' eyes to the difficulties of divorce and the needs of newly divorced parents.

Two of the most important points I took away from King's words: If the divorce can be avoided, do what it takes to avoid it, for it takes an incredible toll on all involved. And if the divorce is unavoidable, know that the threads to an unravelled life can be gathered and woven back into a good new life.

This book is full of honesty, hope and good advice. Required reading for anyone contemplating a divorce, going through a divorce or knowing someone going through a divorce.

Dr. King has some really touching points to make. The first part of her book is very capturing with its diary. The second part is so practical. Major WOW.

Thomas Cleary has done us a great service by translating and/or collecting these works. He is a man of understanding and insight and these three volumes will threaten to make any reader who takes them seriously the same.

Any person who deals with anybody in any way should endeavor to grasp these fine works of wisdom. Not to do so is a mistake. As Confucius said, "If a mistake is not corrected, that is called a mistake."

Anyone interested in learning about leadership should go back to the classics. Clearly has done a great job putting together a collection of the most influencial eastern classics in three volumes. The five classics included in this volume present crucial aspects of human development and empowerment. The most insighful readings in my opinion are thunder in the Sky and The Book of the Five Rings. The first one talks about the skills and behavior of succesful leaders, while the second one deals with the art of confrontation and victory. Clearly's comments are very good in providing insights about the reading. My last recommendation is to start with the first volume: The Art of War by Sun Tzu.
